January 21, 2010:  New website!!!  Are you as excited as I am???

January 21, 2010Hello again, my friends.  Right now is an exciting time for both myself and my career - I just turned 26, I’m about to head to North Carolina for another comedy festival, and I just auditioned for the 2010 Montreal Comedy Festival, which will be held this summer.  Oh!  And I’m currently working on a new and improved website that should be ready for unveiling within the next month!  How exciting for all of us!

July 2, 2009:  Has anything happened since February?  Not really.  That’s why I haven’t been updating my site.  It’s not like I’ve worked with comics Joe Devito, Shang, and Hal Sparks, that I’m currently up in D.C. working with Erin Jackson and Pablo Francisco, or that I was chosen as a finalist in the national competition for a spot at the Aspen Comedy Festival (which I lost…but let’s not focus on that), or that I’ll be featuring at a number of spots this fall, or that I’m the new Funniest Person in Austin 2009, or a bunch of other crap.  Yep…none of that has happened.

- But in theory at least, wouldn’t it be better if all of that had happened, and I just hadn’t been on here to update my site for a few months?  I mean, in theory?  Wouldn’t that be great news for all of us?  (All three of us, at last count, including you, mom)

- Well, just in case you agree that it would be cooler if that stuff had happened, I’m going to pretend that it actually did.  And I’ll update you further on my quickly budding career (my words, not yours) from here on out.  Thanks for your patience as I continue to master this crazy thing known as the internet.

February 9, 2009:  Something tells me I’m missing a lot of sports news lately.  Sigh.  Anyway, couple new things:  I did a show back in DC that got a nice write-up in On Tap Magazine, a DC monthly.  If you want to check it out, just click on my calendar on the date the issue came out - February 1st.  Also, I’m keeping a list of the books I read this year, mostly for my own interest but for yours, too, if you get bored enough.  If you’re curious, check December 31 on the calendar to the right.  Oh, and I’m headlining at a bar called Homer’s on February 28.  Homer’s is a bar about 15 miles north of Austin - if you come out and support, I’ll give you a free hug.  And I’ll mean it.

January 26, 2009:  I find myself back in Austin, Texas, after a whirlwind of a visit to Washington, DC, for a few shows, but mostly for Barack’s inauguration.  Thanks to all those who came out to shows in DC and in Arlington, Virginia.  And a special thanks to the fans who made my flight home so much easier by providing a birthday gift of roughly 30 pounds of assorted candies.  I know it’s no Kit-Kat bar or anything, but I hope a shout-out is at least a small sign of my appreciation.  Happy Birthday to you, too!

January 7, 2009:  Just letting you know I’ve picked up some shows in Austin. They’re all cheap, so if you have a few canned goods (seriously), you should be able to make it out to all of them. Also, they’ve added a second show at the DC Improv on the 17th. Thanks for reading.

December 30, 2008: I had a great trip home to Pittsburgh for the holidays, and just as good a trip back to Austin. Merry belated Christmas to you all, and Happy New Year as well. Let’s try and keep building toward something good in ‘09, yes? Really? Awesome. Do you want to shake on it? Well, we can’t, obviously, because I’m writing this and you’re reading it. We’re not even communicating at the same time. I wrote this a long time ago. So we can’t really shake on it, now can we?

- Oh, and for the person who actually referenced a change on this site and wrote about it on my facebook wall the next day…..I’m pretty sure you are currently my biggest fan. What that says about your life is not my place to say. But a shout-out goes out to you today. Thanks for (inexplicably) keeping watch over this site much more often than myself.

- And love to all those who are reading this, of course. Happy New Year.

December 18, 2008: Hello, from Austin! It’s been two months and four days since I last sent words into the literary purgatory known as my website, and quite a bit has changed in the time since. I’m now based out of Austin, Texas, and I’m loving it down here, though my home club will always be the DC Improv, and my time in that city will always be cherished.

- Before I headed south, I had a chance to record a set for digitalcafetour.com, and that set should be up on their website - and on YouTube, as they just signed a deal to be a premium content provider - sometime in the spring of ‘09. When it is, I’ll post the link asap, if only to give my inbox a chance to breathe, since I’m getting thousands of single-spaced, multi-page e-mails a day from dangerously obsessive fans desperately requesting video clips of the orgasmic experience known as me performing stand-up.

- Oh, and Obama won! Happy happy happy.

October 14, 2008: Hey! Nice to be back. What have I been up to? Great, great question. In the past month, I’ve worked with up-and-coming Paul Morrissey while opening for Gary Valentine, and started my move to the next phase of my path through life and comedy, during which my home base will be located in the great city of Austin, Texas. The rest of ‘08 will be spent bouncing around between Pittsburgh, DC, Baltimore, and Austin, doing shows and setting up what will hopefully be an exciting - and busy - 2009. I’ll keep you posted…in the meantime: Barack in ‘08!

September 10, 2008: Well, well, well. Welcome back, old friend. What’s that? You missed me? I think you’re patronizing me, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. It’s been an enjoyably hectic stretch in the four months since I’ve last filled you in on my whereabouts. Let me try to catch you up - in the four months since my last post, I have:
____________

- Finished opening for Ben Bailey.

- Emceed four other weeks at various clubs, including a week with the black-comedy-ubiquitous John Witherspoon, and perhaps more notably, a week with Judy Tenuta, who rocketed to stardom in the 80’s as the premier comedienne/accordionist of our time, and remains confident enough to perform the same jokes to this day, Reagan’s death be damned.

- Featured twice, including working with my first ever ventriloquist.

- Performed guest sets with comics Marc Maron, Bob Marley, and three guest sets with Dave Attell.

- Got accepted into and performed at the 2008 DC Comedy Fest.

- Seen the death and rebirth of nothatingjustsaying.com.

- Gotten funnier.
_____________

Needless to say, it’s been a fun couple months. I’m happy to be back writing to you again, my fans (play along), as I continue to try to make it seem like 98 percent of my time isn’t spent either watching youtube or taking naps. (But rest assured, that other 2 percent is yours)

April 11, 2008: I’ve been having a blast so far at the Improv with Cash Cab host Ben Bailey. I’ve got a couple more shows with him - two tonight, two Saturday, and one more on Sunday. Saturday will be a bit crazy, as I’ll have to bring him up, then sneak into the other showroom in order to audition for this year’s DC Comedy Fest. But I wouldn’t want it any other way. Well…if I was able to do all that while sitting on my couch and watching PTI, I’d probably want it that way more. But as far as realistic options, this weekend is about as fun as they come.

April 6, 2008: Just finished up my weekend at the Baltimore Comedy Factory and had a great time, except for one small detail, which I’ll add to my bloggary (blog + diary + 12 year-old girl who writes website) before I start at the Improv next week. In the meantime, I continue to have fun on my new blog - www.nothatingjustsaying.blogspot.com - and continue to appreciate all the love I’m getting from the Baltimore/DC area and, specifically, all of you who are reading this.

March 21, 2008: Well, the Maria Bamford weekend is in the books, and I probably can’t put into words how cool she was and how cool it was to get to perform with her. The show last night at Wiseacres ended up getting cancelled (who could have predicted that so many people would want to watch some sort of basketball tournament of some kind…), but I suppose you can’t win ‘em all. I picked up a weekend at the Baltimore Comedy Factory, April 3-5, and I continue to prep for what should be a great time at the Improv the following week, April 9-13 with Ben Bailey.

If you’re reading this, it means that on some level, you give a shit what I’m doing. I can’t thank you enough for that.
